Mr. Rick Conti, Principal
Peace and blessings to all! I am very excited and humbled to be writing to you as the Principal of this wonderful school with such a storied history!
I grew up in West Philadelphia and attended St. Donato School. Moving to Northeast Philadelphia gave me the opportunity to continue my Catholic Education at St. Cecilia and then Cardinal Dougherty High School. Following high school, I attended Temple University and Immaculata University.
Being a product of Catholic Elementary and Secondary Education, I felt compelled to return to my roots and become a Catholic School teacher myself. I began teaching Instrumental and Classroom Music, as well as Art Education, before transitioning to third grade. Over the years, I became involved in a “deep dive” of curriculum and instruction as a teacher leader, where I led bi-weekly professional development for teachers across an educational network for the implementation of a new ELA curriculum. In this role, I looked for opportunities where progress monitoring would promote student growth. I also worked alongside teachers and assisted with lesson planning and curriculum implementation at the classroom level.
Aside from my experience as a classroom teacher and teacher leader, I was previously the chair of Catholic Identity in my previous school. In this role, I ensured the students had an opportunity to receive the sacraments throughout the year, I planned all school liturgical events and masses, and looked for opportunities for the students to grow closer to God. Through this work of Evangelization, I became a Godfather to four students in my class.
I previously served as a Coordinator for Religious Education within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and I currently serve as the Director of Music Ministry for a parish within the Archdiocese as well.
As I approached the end of the 2022 school year, I began to discern a call of school leadership. I spent most of the following school year thinking and praying over what God wanted me to do next, which led me here to you.
It is my hope that we will always work in partnership to benefit the students who grace the halls of our building.
May God bless you always, in all ways!
